What is Cookie Stuffing

The process of cookie stuffing exists because affiliate networks use a cookie to track sales.In the simplest of terms,imagine that your affiliate network gave you a link.When people click on that link and buy a product,you get paid a commision.

Now understand that you only get commision when someone clicks that link,thats how it works,simple.Now being a smart affiliate,you decide to add banners on your site,try to make them blend into your site so people click on it more.Sadly,its in vain and nobody clicks on your banners.

So here you are today,wondering how to force users to click that link.Thus the invention of the cookie stuff.Cookie stuffing is the equivalent of forcing the user to click the link.

假如模拟的cookies散布到了一些人的计算机中，就算这些人买了产品，但是他之前却没有访问产品服务器的记录，后来的cookies是怎么来的，这个确实是有点问题

不同的affiliate network的cookie的有效期是不一样的
比如amazon的cookie为24小时。而ebay的cookie的有效期为7天，还有很多的affiliate networks的有效期更长
拿ebay来说，如果有人点了你的链接，7天之内购买了商品，那还算你的
cookie stuff是强制在浏览者电脑里留下cookie，也相当于别人点了你的链接。这就是cookie stuffing的魅力所在。当然这样的做法属于blackhat的做法了。很多联盟会查referer，做的不好就有可能K号
