Amazing Niche Marketing Module One
Making money online with Amazon is a lot of FUN! You’ll never get bored because there are an incredible number of different products to promote. There are also new products in a variety of niches being released all the time.
All of this adds up to some incredible opportunities for you to rank quickly and easily for many products. The competition is next to nothing for some of these!
For this first module, I’m going to go over my basic process for building Amazon affiliate websites. Use this to jump-start your sites, if you want to skip ahead a little. Next time, I’ll cover a specific method for choosing products to promote and build sites around. This should give you an idea of the process. It really is quick and easy, once you get the hang of it!
Note that for the purposes of this course, I’m going to be concentrating on building product-specific websites. I also like building “mother sites” as they’ve been popularly termed, but they are a longer term process and this is all about ranking fast — and earning commissions fast! (I’ll consider adding a bonus guide to making these larger sites, if there is enough interest).
Also note that I currently prefer building on WordPress, so that is how I will recommend building your site. Please let me know if you are totally new and need me to point you in the direction of some YouTube videos or similar to help you with the techie-aspects of this
My basic process (I’ll be going over each of these steps in-depth in future modules):
- Choose a best-selling (or brand new and sure to be hot) item to promote (I’ll detail exactly how to choose ones that are likely profitable vs. ones that won’t do so well for you). I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers, http://www.amazon.com/gp/movers-and-shakers/, scout press releases, company product release documents, and more!
- Find a domain name that is similar to the product I’ve chosen — but not exact, as I don’t want to infringe on trademarks or lose my domain down the road. For example, if I were promoting “zhu zhu pets,” I might choose something like “toyhamsterpets.com” (not my site, just an example). Basically, you want something that is related and contains keywords, but won’t get you into trouble. Note that you’re still going to attempt to rank for the product name, and not necessarily the exact domain name.
- Write a powerful piece of review content (Amazon provides you with all you need!) for my homepage. I make this one fairly long and in-depth…something for people, and the search engines, to really sink their teeth into. The goal is to provide them with everything they need to know, all the while guiding them toward the sale. I set this as the homepage so it always stays at the top. There is a certain way to write this content that really grabs buyers!
- Write two “fluffier,” but still helpful pieces to be submitted over the next couple of days. This is to show the search engines this is a high-quality site
- Do some on-page SEO to ensure top rankings — there is a specific way to do it to really maximize your site’s potential
- Add some HUGE, profit-pulling graphics — I’ll show you how I easily make these
- Add some text affiliate links — there is a specific way I place them on the page to maximize conversions
- Lazily get a few backlinks — I’ll show you my source for the laziest of the lazy, plus how to do it manually. It really doesn’t take much for this style of site
- Sit back and see where that gets me in a few days (I’m really, truly terribly lazy about backlinking!)
- In general, I can rank for what I’m going for in about a week. Obviously, you’re not going to rank for the hottest selling TV that all the top authority sites are reviewing…you have to be realistic about what you choose to promote and evaluate your competition (I’ll tell you how!). That’s not to say that you can’t rank for those products/keywords, it will just take longer. In any case, you can earn some great income with this method!
