Today, you’re going to write two shorter (around 400 words), “flufflier” pieces of content. These will be posted in the posts section, vs. the pages section like your other content.
All I generally do at the early stages of a website are these three pieces of content (the homepage + 2 shorter ones). That doesn’t mean that’s all I’ll do forever, but I don’t want to pour a lot of time in before I know it’s going to be a profitable website.
For instance, if I’m pretty far down on page 1 or am stuck on page 2, I might add more content over time. I “feed” my winning sites or ones I feel strongly have the potential to be winners.
Choose Your Article Topics
The first thing you need to do is decide what your two articles should be about. This is not make-it-or-break-it content…it just has to be well written and based on your product keyword.
Head back to Amazon.com to your product’s page for inspiration.
Article Heading Templates
Two standard article titles that can help you are:
- How to Get the Lowest Price on “your product”
- “Your Product” — Here’s How it Makes Your Life Easier/Better/More Fun
So, for my example site, I’m going to write the following articles:
- How to Get the Lowest Price on the Cuisinart GR-4N Griddler
- Cuisinart GR-4N Griddler — How it Makes Your Life Easier in the Kitchen
You’ve already done all the research you need to for your product. You’ve written (or outsourced) the first piece, so you can use that as a reference point.
Post Your Articles to Dripfeed Over the Next Few Days
After you’ve written your articles, set the first one to post a day after you’ve posted your home page article. Set the second one to post two days after that one. The idea is to get the search engine spiders interested in visiting your site…and ranking it highly! |
