Relevancy, relevancy, relevancy. If you haven’t figured it out by now, one of the biggest reasons these sites rank and sell so well is because they are incredibly relevant to your chosen product.
My entire example site is based on my product. My content is based on the product. My tags, categories, (soon-to-be) graphics, are all tightly related.
Today, we’re going to take the opportunity to tighten up the on-page SEO on your website.
Here is the checklist of things you need to do:
- Create a sitemap on your site (this is very easy to do with WP-Flex, as it’s a built in template)
- Create and submit an XML sitemap to Google
- Interlink your content
- Link out to relevant websites of authority
Why are you doing these things? Here is the breakdown
- You’re creating a site map on your website for two reasons — it makes it easy for the search engines to spider and find (and rank) all of your pages, and it makes it easy for visitors to find your pages
- You’re submitting an XML sitemap so Google can index and rank all of your pages (coming at it from both angles here!)
- You’re linking your content together to show relevancy. This is an old “Info Product Killer” teaching that really works very well to improve rankings
- You’re linking out to relevant websites of authority — testing (of SEO experts and myself) shows that this is a great thing for your rankings. Site visitors are looking for relevant content. There is also the thought that you’re putting yourself in the right “neighborhood” by linking to these other sites
The great news is that these things are quick and easy to do! You should already have your homepage article up as well as 2 smaller posts. It’s just a matter of time before your content is completely ready to go.
